Kara M. Mitchell grew up in the rural parts of northern Oklahoma. As a little girl, she was too squirmy to practice the piano, but discovered she could draw and sing, draw and listen to music, or draw and daydream. Kara received her BFA and BLA degrees at Oklahoma State University. Having worked in Art Education and Landscape design has forged her artwork into the style you see today. Playful colors, graphic lines, and underlying humor guide Kara's ideas and images. Currently living in Oklahoma city with her two boys and the one husband, Kara is a freelance illustrator focusing on children's book illustration and illustrated graphics.
